whychristmas?com was started in November 2000 by me, James Cooper, a Christmas loving web designer from the U.K!
I'd always loved Christmas (yes, I'm a very big kid!) and had wondered about the 'whys' of Christmas;such as why do we have Father Christmas and why we have Christmas Trees and send cards to each other?! So I thought that creating a site all about the different aspects of Christmas, would not only be very interesting to research (and it has been and still is!), but could be a useful and fun site for all types of surfers to use! (Some teacher friends also asked me why they could find a good site about Christmas that wasn't trying to sell something!)
I'm a Christian, so to me the most important part of Christmas is the Christmas Story, that took place about 2000 years ago, when Jesus was born in Bethlehem to come and be the Saviour of the world. The only thing I sell on my site is Jesus! ;-)
Also, having lived in England all my life, I've only experienced a typical 'English Christmas', so I'm very interested in the different ways that people celebrate Christmas around the world.
I'm happy listening to Christmas Carols and songs throughout the year! And to really get me into the Christmas spirit, I have to watch 'The Muppets Christmas Carol'!!!

I hope this site bring's together all the aspects of Christmas, and as Garth Brooks puts it in the notes on his Christmas Album 'brings the feelings God intended to be felt at Christmas and beyond the season.'
